Why did you start teaching?

I get a great sense of satisfaction when students connect multiple sources of content to solve a problem. I know this will continue into the real world, improving the quality of our criminal justice system.

In your own words, what is the value of this degree to a student?

In a field that is rapidly changing and is highly influenced by non-scientific beliefs, it is imperative that criminal justice professionals stick to evidence-based practices and research. This program provides this, as well as connections to other criminal justice professionals that can increase opportunities for future careers.

What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

Go for it! This program has been expertly crafted to ensure high-quality instruction. Your professors genuinely want to see you succeed.

What would you like students to take away from your classes?

A practical knowledge of course content. My hope is that students utilize the content they learned in my courses in their future careers.

Relevant application of material, including specialty court creation, data analysis plans for grant writing and interview assignments to increase connections with professionals in the criminal justice field.
