Career Highlights:

Dr. Simone Nance’s work focuses on elementary science, literacy integration, educational technology and artificial intelligence in education. In her first years in higher education, she has published in national and state journals, presented at national and international conferences, secured external grant funding, chaired multiple doctoral dissertation committees, contributed to multiple professional review boards and committees and developed an active research agenda exploring AI policy and innovative instructional practices in K-12. She is an active member of the National Science Teaching Association's Early Childhood and Elementary Committee, where she conducts webinars and presents workshops for current educators around the country alongside fellow committee members. She is also an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators, where she serves as her chapter president and state vice president, among a variety of other roles.

Tell us something that your students might find interesting about you.
I used to read Science and Children, a journal published by the National Science Teaching Association, as an elementary teacher. It ended up being the first journal I published in after starting this new phase of my career at USI!
What advice would you give to those considering this online program?
I work with practicing educators in the field. My advice would be: Hold yourself to the same expectations for growth, reflection and learning that you set for your own students.
